I started my journey with Weight loss in August of 2001. I was 345 pounds and a size 32W. I have been overweight all my life and I saw this surgery as my last chance for a normal life.I am a music teacher at an Elementary School, so I was allowed to return after only 4 weeks. My weight loss was steady throughout. I am now nearly 3 years out from surgery and I have lost 160 pounds. I am now a size 12 or 14 on top and an 18 on the bottom. (I have always been bigger on the bottom!!) I have maintained the same weight within 10 pounds for 2 years. That has NEVER happened before! I can now go to any theater I want to, because I know I can fit in the seats. I can go to amusement parks and know that I can fit in the seats on the rides. I have the stamina to stay on my feet all day if I need to. My back, hips, legs, feet all have no more pain. I no longer have the reflux that was so bad it burned my vocal chords. I am even off of allergy medication. No more high blood pressure. Cholesterol is perfect. I feel great! The only problem I have now is sagging skin. I have had a tummy tuck, but my arms and legs are very saggy. Hopefully my workouts at the gym will help with this.
