Every Step Counts!

If you have seen a doctor at some point in your life, there is a good chance that you have heard that you should exercise. But do you know why? Diet and exercise are two key factors in our overall health. Check out the benefits of regular activity below.

  1. Exercise can help control weight. The more calories your burn, the more weight you lose or maintain based on your consumption of calories from food.
  2. Exercise helps decrease your chances of developing various health conditions and diseases. Regular exercise can help prevent or manage the following health problems and concerns: stroke, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, anxiety, many types of caner, falls, and metabolic syndrome.
  3. Exercise improve mood and energy. Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins in our body. Endorphins are the good chemicals that make your body feel good and they are released during exercise.
  4. Exercise improve sleep hygiene. Regular exercise can help you achieve better sleep and stay asleep longer.

The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity and strength training at least 2 times per week.
