The odds are favorable that at some point in your journey, you have been educated on the importance of physical activity. While I do believe that you cannot out exercise a bad diet, exercise does play an important role in establishing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes per week of exercise to maintain your weight and at least 250 minutes of exercise per week to lose weight. That may seem intimidating, but we can help!
Exercise is Medicine is a program fully funded by the Lexington Medical Center Foundation. We partner with Health Directions to offer this program to our pre-and post-op patients. The program includes the following:

Health and fitness assessment by a Certified Health Fitness Specialist

Exercise prescription tailored to the patient’s needs

Eight session of one-to-one personal training

Two months membership at Health Directions

Referral to other appropriate LMC services to reach patient wellness goals, as needed

Communication to health care provider regarding patient participation and progress
