Looking for Volunteers for our Angel Program!

“We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” Ronald Reagan

Have you ever wanted to use your weight loss success to help inspire and support others?  Sometimes hearing advice from someone who “has been there” can relieve anxiety and be the relatable support someone needs.  Our Angel Program helps facilitate that support by pairing a successful post-op patient with a pre-op patient in our program.

Angels:

  • Have had surgery at least nine months ago.
  • Follow diet, exercise, and follow up recommendations.
  • Have an enthusiastic attitude to share your surgical and weight loss journey.

Angels should be available by phone, text or email but are not expected to meet with pre-op patients in person.  Angels also should make their availability or limitations clear to pre-op patients.  They are also not obligated to visit patients in the hospital.  Angels should not give specific medical or nutritional advice to patients but refer them to their surgeon or registered dietitian.

“Your small support could accomplish a big dream.” Mohammad Richad Sakhi

Will you give some “small support’ to help others with their dream of good health and weight loss?  Could you be an Angel?

If you would like to be an Angel in our program please contact: Marlena Farley, Program Coordinator at mjfarley@lexhealth.org or 803-791-2023.
